Offsite Consequence Analysis

Safety Management Services, Inc. (SMS) has completed multiple evaluations of Offsite Consequence Analysis (OCA) for potential chemical releases. We have worked together with our clients and government representatives. Analyses were completed in accordance with EPA guidelines. SMS can assist you in completing an Offsite Consequence Analysis including dispersion calculations and assistance in working with government agencies. Please contact us for further information.

The goal of an Offsite Consequence Analysis is to determine how harmful a worst-case leak could be to the public. As part of OCA, company officials are required to communicate with government representatives, and together produce an emergency response plan to follow in case of a release. In addition alternate release scenarios are also analyzed to ensure that no offsite people will be affected by a leak of a toxic or flammable substance.
